Lovely old style hotel in great surroundings. Food was well done if a bit "nouvelle" for my test. Hats off to the knowledgable and friendly bar man who made us welcome and spent time having a natter about his craft. Loved staying...

Enjoyed the warmth from the log fire in the reception. The grounds were excellent for exploring, with multiple bars and lounges providing an inviting atmosphere for unwinding.
Found the room experience a bit underwhelming considering the price, especially with visible water damage from a poorly fitting shower screen and peeling paint. Breakfast experience was a hassle. I requested porridge early for a race but it arrived late and cold. Also noticed the restaurant menu felt a little lackluster, lacking exciting options that cater to local flavors.
